Match report In a game that swang both ways, Marchmont got off to a flier through A Renwick and M Fraser, and were on 115-0 after 27 overs, but were pegged back by the old guard bowling of Charlie Paul and Phil,and young whipper snapper catching, by Calum and Ali G, to end on 191-8, with P Gudgin almost getting a 5 for, if hed held one hit straight back to him(sore fingers). In reply with storm clouds gathering Broomhalls openers Old Paul & young Jack after having an early LBW scare, put on 118 for the 1st wicket after 23 overs, then lost 2 quick wickets, but with the score delicately balanced at 124-2 after 27 overs, the heavens opened, an attempt to go back out did happen until it pelted down on the way out and no further play was possible. Fair play to both sides who were both willing to try and finish the game normally at such a delicate stage and noone quite sure as to the result(noone had a copy of the rules). It now emerges that Broomhall get the win(only just). This at the roughly tender age of 50 was Paul Stringer's first ever 50(the ton is next Paul). Jacks 2nd 90 + opening stand in 2 weeks, this time in a supporting role. Mike getting itchy(sore) feet dying to get back in the mix.
