Match report Fife was experiencing snow. hail and downpours, but in The Cairns things were calm and dry. The 3rds were due to play their first home game awaiting the arrival of Stirling 4s, would the rain hold off? Phil lost the toss and was hoping to field first, but as luck would have it Stirling made a tactical error and opted to bat on an unknown early season surface. This suited the opening bowling partnership of Thomas Lucas and Ieuan Ward who tore through the Stirling batters. Wickets were falling cheaply Ieuan taking one in his 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th over where a double wicket maiden was bowled - finishing on 6 for 4. Thomas took 3 including the final wicket to end on 3 for 17. The Broomhall supporters including the extended Barron family - introducing the future of the club's youth to the game.

A quick turn around then Scott Lucas and Danny Glasgow opened the batting. A sensible first two overs then the shots came, twenty off four overs then Danny's wicket fell in the fifth and Steve Allwood helped Scott across the line. A convincing win for the 3s - hopefully more to come over the next few weeks.

A T/20 was then agreed upon by the skippers, but not before having a tea that even Mike Warren would be proud of.

A good days cricket in the Cairns with another mixed team of youth and experience playing for Broomhall.
