Match report The U18 Scottish Cup at Falkland, Falkland opened the batting and Ieuan and Ali opened the bowling - Ali's first and two wickets were taken, the bowling was tight and Ieuan took the 3rd - 12 for 3. Then Langlands and May built up a 38 partnership before Charlie tempted May to pop one up for Neil to catch in a Warren esque fashion. Scott Lucas' second over saw the fall of two quick wickets - 72 for 6, eight more runs were added and the remaining wickets fell, a target of 80 for the Broomhall young guns. A good solid start with fielding contributions from all. Scott ending on 5 for 4 excellent bowling.
Danny and Jamie opened, 9 for no loss off 1.5 overs a good start but then Danny lost his wicket. Runs were slowly being notched up, but wickets kept falling 27 for 2, 47 for 3, 68 for 4 with 20 runs required from the last 4. Scott was bowled 5 runs required from the last 2 overs - the fielders were brought in to save the single, Ali and Ieuan kept the crowd on the edge playing shots that only Ian Barron would have brought to the party. The last over and 3 required. Ali and Ieuan managed it - round 2 here they come.
